Warm Hospitality in Traditional San Francisco Victorian
For more than 15 years, Jim and Suzanne have been welcoming visitors from all over the world. We are glad to share our home with guests.
Originally built as a “workman’s cottage,” the remodeled Victorian is located in an up-and-coming neighborhood, with a wide choice of cafes and excellent, moderately priced restaurants. Centrally located, the house is served by five public transportation lines, which will take you downtown and to other popular areas of the city in less than half an hour. Golden Gate Park and three other picturesque parks are within easy walking distance.
The charming upstairs guest room is nicely furnished in Victorian style, with a large bureau, double bed, and closet. The adjoining parlor makes the guest area more like a suite, with TV, VCR, and a library full of books. There is a full, private bath in the hall, just steps away.
The L-shaped downstairs bedroom is large and sunny, with a comfy double bed, huge desk, ample storage, walk-in closet, and TV. The curtains are insulated for extra privacy and quiet. There is a private half-bathroom (shower, sink and toilet) close by, in the hallway.
In back of the house is a lovely garden, full of flowers and butterflies (sometimes even hummingbirds!) where guests can stroll or sit when the weather is good. Breakfast (including croissants or bagels, fruit, yoghurt, juice and freshly brewed coffee) is served in the sunny kitchen. There is free wireless Internet service, and driveway parking can be arranged. Driveway parking is sometimes (in other words, not always) possible. If we have two sets of visitors staying here at the same time and both are driving, we can only accommodate one of their cars in our driveway. Note from a English guest in August: Dear Suzanne and Jim I just wanted to thank you for making me feel so welcome in your home. I felt like I was visiting friends, rather than staying in a B&B. I had a lovely time in San Francisco and a big part of that was because of you. Richard
